Transcript excerpt

Went on a date with someone new every single week for a year straight. It totally changed my life, and I think you should do it too. Let me tell you why. So for most of my life, one on one hangs actually made me really anxious, which I know might be surprising if you see my content, but it's true. I just felt more comfortable blending into big group settings. So I set out to change that. And I knew that the only way I could do it was through exposure therapy, better, like, getting my reps in. So for fifty two weeks straight, I committed to a one on one hang with someone new every single week, no repeats. These were in fact mostly platonic friend dates, but what happened next was really surprising. Worst few dates felt kind of uncomfy, but then, like, building a muscle, I grew stronger, less intimidated by really looking someone in the eye. And, yeah, a lot of the dates didn't turn into much, but a few of them turned into really great friends. Like, my friend Ava is holding the camera right now. Anyways, if you're someone who can relate to this, I challenge you to a few friend dates yourself. I'm making a series about how to build community that sticks. Follow for part two.
