We built this because scrolling isn't studying.
VideoDatabase started as an internal tool for Cut30, our short-form video bootcamp. We needed a better way to find and study great videos on Instagram and TikTok.
The references were there. Getting back to the right one, comparing it with other examples, and explaining what made it interesting took work. Opening a feed to research your next video could easily turn into an hour of watching everything except what you came for.
We wanted a place where you could arrive with a question and leave with something useful to make.
The tool we wanted for our own work.
As creators and business owners, we're on both sides of this problem. We make content ourselves, and through Cut30, we help other people develop the skills to make theirs.
That means going beyond “this video did well.” How did it open? What made the idea clear? How was the story structured? What would you need to shoot your own version?
We wanted those questions to shape the product. A library you could search with a specific idea in mind. Breakdowns that help you see the decisions inside a video. A way to discover creators and approaches you wouldn't encounter in your own feed.
That became VideoDatabase.

We organize videos by the structure of the production, the way the idea is presented, and the techniques used to deliver it. We also examine hooks and narrative frameworks so you can look more closely at how a video earns attention and develops its story.
That gives you a practical vocabulary for creating. You can identify the part you want to learn from and decide how it fits your message, your audience, and what you're able to produce.
