I'm on the hunt for a perfume that smells like rain and not just any rain. Rain on hot concrete. I'm looking for something that has a heavy soil note that kind of smells like rain on desert sand. That specific scent is called petrichor. But the problem is that so many fragrances claim that they smell like petrichor, but end up smelling nothing like it. I have seeing bad by Lay Labo be recommended a lot. So I went over there to give it a try instead of blind buying. My first impression is that it smelled very much like patchoulian musk, but was severely lacking any dampness at all. It also smelled very crisp and clean, but there was like no grit to it, which was pretty disappointing. The very kind workers there told me to go to Stell in New York to to find more photo realistic petrichor fragrances. So that will be in my part good. If you guys have any recommendations, please let me know. I'm genuinely so desperate.
