Investigating a popular brand's quality. from @wirecutter
The speaker, an editor at Wirecutter, investigates whether the quality of Talenti gelato has changed over time. She introduces a formal taste test where a panel tries nine different Talenti flavors against competitors. The video then breaks down the results flavor by flavor, labeling some as "Skip It" (like Madagascan Vanilla and Mediterranean Mint) and explaining potential reasons for their poor taste, such as ingredient changes. It also highlights a flavor to "Love It" (Alphonso Mango Sorbetto), praising its taste and texture. The speaker concludes by summarizing the overall 5/9 approval rating and contextualizing Talenti's evolution, noting its 2014 corporate acquisition and the changing premium ice cream landscape as reasons it may no longer feel as special as it once did.

Testers did not like the mint flavor. They thought it was foamy. They said it tasted like toothpaste and that it just was muddy and strange. These are not things you want in a dessert. The Alfonso rank sorbetto was a real bright spot in this taste test. It is bright. It is bold. It tastes like you're eating a mango. The texture was really good too. It was soft. It was easy to spoon. It really just it excelled i
