Athlete explains race-winning tech secret from @runna
The speaker, professional runner Josh Kerr, explains the function of the electronic pace lights on a running track that were used during his world record attempt. He details how different colored lights correspond to different paces for the pacemakers and himself, and then reveals an inside secret that the lights were programmed to slow down in the final 100 meters to create a more dramatic visual for the audience, making it appear as though he was pulling away from the record pace when he was actually securing it.
