Transcript excerpt
You might know me as Jacob from Abbott Elementary. But today, I am Professor Perfetti, and we're going to be learning about the history of the Philly worst pork. In 1918, an Italian immigrant by the name of Domenico Grucci arrived at Ellis Island. He started a catering business, and by 1930, he opened John's Roast Pork, where he sold the original Worst Pork Special, which was just thinly sliced pork. In the nineteen seventies, we see the introduction of sharp provolone cheese and spinach. Competitors in the region added broccoli rabe, which we love. And in tier, Dave Federov, a Philadelphia native, began selling the Philadelphia staple in New York, the most notable introduction of the roast pork sandwich outside of Philly, until now. Giada Delicatessen and Abbott Elementary on ABC have teamed up to bring the Abbott special to Los Angeles. A take on the Philly roast pork. Garlic aioli, roast pork, provolone, broccolini, spicy breadcrumbs, and arugula all on a chart at baguette. Grab a bite of history. Available June fifth through seventh at all Giada locations.
