Introducing Rank Bug Hotel designs. This Bug, this Bug, and this Bug are in trouble. One gesture, modest better meaningful, is the Bug Hotel. We asked four designers to come to Netwildland and build the finest insect accommodation a Bug could ask for. First up, Saskia Martindale with the Leaky Hotel. Saskia has made a leak, a one meter best. Striking. Something you'd spot across a meadow and need to investigate. As an opening statement in this competition, it is confident. It is also genuinely a leak. Next, Vas Samuelson and Michael Lai with the spinning suites. Two creatives drawing inspiration from maple seeds. Those lovely winged things that spiral down in the autumn. Their hotel takes that shape. Leaf like wooden forms rising from poles as if the field itself grew them. It is arguably the most architectural entry. And finally, Aidan Robertson with the BugBee and Biome. Aidan has taken a quieter approach, though no less ambitious. Pod like forms built with wattle and daub. It will better. It will moss over. Aidan seems genuinely unbothered by this. In the context of a rewilded garden, that feels feels like the right attitude.
