Greenscreen history of useless lawns from @zephzoid
The creator uses a greenscreen format to explain the historical origins of manicured lawns, arguing that they are an outdated display of wealth. He transitions from archival photos of early mowers to vibrant images of gardens and livestock, advocating for viewers to convert their yards into productive food sources. Finally, he pivots to a map interface, promoting an app designed to connect consumers with local farmers.

Transcript excerpt
For as long as humans have been alive, the land around a home was used to grow food. All of a sudden, manicured grass, which we call lawns, have become a display of wealth. A lawn has essentially become a way of saying, I'm so wealthy, I can waste my productive land on decoration. The worse push tier in 1870 transformed what had been a luxury into an expectation that every homeowner should maintain a trim rank yard. This has made us overlook the real flexes, like having a garden bed, raising animals like having a chicken coop in your back yard that produces eggs, fruit trees, beehives. We should be self producing as much of our own food as possible, and then buying the rest from small local farmers, only then filling in the rest with the grocery store.
