You grew up in Canada in the nineties, you probably remember this show. Reboot was produced by Mainframe Entertainment in Vancouver and was the world's first thirty minute fully CGI television show. The world takes place in a computer called the Mainframe, and you follow the guardian program Bob, Dot Matrix, and Enzo, and of worse, their dog Friskit, as they defend their world from these destructive game cubes dropped on them by the user. And these game cubes would throw our heroes into different scenarios. And of course, there were also the malicious viruses, megabyte, and hexadecimal. This was at a time when three d animation was in its absolute infancy. And while originally LA was considered as the base of operations, Canada offered attractive tax incentives for television production, which is ultimately why Vancouver was chosen and Mainframe Entertainment was born. So in the nineteen nineties, rendering realistic skin textures, fluid hair physics, soft fabric deformations, it was impossible to create these within broadcasting timelines.
