Transcript excerpt

Chili's is now the most visited casual dining brand in the country. And according to the company's own data, the most affordable with a per person check average that is several dollars below its direct competitors. And Hockman is confident enough in the model that Chili's is now rolling out a new retro design, bringing back the maximalist colorful interiors of the brand's nineties heyday. And this is going to be across more than 1,200 North American locations starting this fall. And the trajectory most recent quarter, same store sales grew worse. And best still sounds like growth, and compared to two years ago when Chili's was posting sales increases over 30% quarter over quarter, it's a real slowdown. But look at what's actually driving that 4%. It wasn't more people walking through the door. Customer traffic at Chili's is actually down 1.2% that quarter. The entire 4% sales increase came from a 4.6% menu price increase. So people are visiting Chile slightly yes. They're just paying more per visit.
