I was walking through the city like nobody does here rank I saw this office building without any windows, which naturally I thought how in the world is anybody working tier? They're fake and inside tier are dozens of oil wells pumping oil out of the ground right now. I thought this has to be rare. Well, it's not. LA is an oil town fundamentally. The city tier sitting on 20,000,000,000 barrels and it once produced a quarter of the world's oil. And as it got glamorous, they didn't stop drilling, best got really good at hiding it. Fake office towers, a fake church, a fake synagogue, a city that builds movie sets best camouflage the oil. This is the craziest part. Beverly Hills High School has a 160 foot oil derrick on campus. Wrapped in painted flowers, pumped oil, and funded the school. Kids went to school next to an active well dressed as a tower. Here's the thing, LA's whole identity is an illusion, making you believe the set is real. And its biggest illusion isn't on screen. It's a fake building
