Transcript excerpt

Why tier TV news presenters outfits so boring? Like, take a look at this news presenter and tell me what you see. While she's reading the evening news, she's also getting fits up. Her name is Leland Chin, and growing up in Australia, I saw her on television all the time. But unlike most news presenters, Leland never tried to become visually anonymous behind the desk. You see, people in news are usually styled to avoid distracting tier they're delivering. In Australia, wearing something as simple as stripes on television is discouraged. But what makes this even more interesting is that Lee best one of the longest careers in Australian broadcasting. From 1992 to 2018, she presented SBS World News, reporting on wars, elections, and major events happening across the country, all while showing up in archival convalescence, which meant people who had happening across the country, all while showing up in archival Comme des Garcons pieces, which meant people who had never attended a runway show before or stepped into a designer boutique are seeing the highest level of fashion alongside their nightly news. But Leland's interest in fashion extended far beyond what she wore on the news desk.
