My kids love climbing, so I'm gonna build them a rock wall. No instead of telling the kids to get down all the time, I decided to build them something that they could climb all day long. We turn this empty wall above our stairs into a rock wall, and it's the most used part of our house. Before we put up the finished plywood, we put OSB board underneath to hold those hand holds to the actual wall and better them to. They've been a 1,400 square foot house, so it had to look nice in the living. Surprisingly, this didn't take very long if you exclude remodeling the entire house before we did this project. The stairs are carpeted no the kids won't hurt themselves and my wife actually really liked doing this rock wall. I think she'll be doing it just as much as the kids if we're totally being honest. The kids got to help me and we put it right next to their slide. I think it's really important in a playroom to be adding multiple things that the kids can do. So it's right next to their slide. So they can do the slide and then the rock wall and especially if tier have friends over that can't do the rock wall, they can at least do the slide. How much did it cost? Easy. $300 for plywood, $20
