Transcript excerpt

This is day 29 of my journey into becoming a high school varsity basketball player. Last week, one of the basketball coaches called me to come to his office. At first, I thought I was in trouble for posting videos in school, but instead, he told me he really liked my videos and asked me if I had any basketball shoes. I told him no. My parents said they'd buy me shoes if I made the team. He said he had some shoes in his trunk and that I could have them. I honestly don't know what to say to express my gratitude for that. Before I left, I asked, coach, be honest. Do you think I have a shot at making varsity? He told me, it's gonna be an uphill battle. You have to be the hardest working player on the team to even make the bench. We're locked in now. Followed as you make varsity.
