This is an incredibly weird fleece designed specifically for the US special forces. This very spiky and muppity looking fabric is called Alpha Fabric, and this specific variant is Alpha Direct. Alpha Fabric is the first ever active insulation, which means it has two very important jobs instead of one. Its first job is if you're a big gnarly special forces agent and you're running around with your bazooka and doing strenuous activities, this cannot get in your way. It has to be cool. So the base of the fabric itself is an extremely open mesh knit. When I move my arm like this, it feels like I'm not even wearing a sleeved shirt. But when you stop and you're gonna get cold no you'd have to put a big jacket or something like that on, the other part of this fabric is an extremely high pile fleece. When I am standing still and the air around me is also still, this fleece comes into effect and warms me up. Now basically better single outdoor brand makes something similar.
