Rant about working class struggles from @oldfashonedhussle

The creator begins by dismissing the opinions of millionaires regarding the working class, then pivots to her own pressing financial anxieties. She details a cascading series of expenses: a high light bill requiring her to use savings, which requires a valid ID, which requires paying for a new birth certificate and taking unpaid time off for a DMV appointment. She concludes by lamenting that after all these systemic costs, she still has to pay for basic necessities like tampons, framing her rant as a critique of a society that forces people to pay just to prove their existence.

Transcript excerpt

I don't give a fuck about what some millionaire says about the working class. I don't. I don't give a fuck about the apology. That seems to be a pattern of behavior and a cycle that motherfuckers are not willing to break. You know what I'm worried about? This light bill. This light bill is trying to take me for everything I got. In order to pay for that light bill, I have to go into an app that I've been saving money up for for a rainy day. And guess what, bitch? It's fucking pouring. Okay? In order to do that, I need an ID that's not expired that I have to pay for. In order to get that ID, I need to pay for a birth certificate because mine is too wrinkly. And then I have to schedule a DMV appointment and take off of work. That's more money out of my pocket. And then after all that bullshit, I still have to pay for tampons. Okay? I'm more concerned with the fact that we live in a society that is requiring us to pay to prove that we exist. I'm sorry. That was a lot.
