Indeed, we need to be tolerant of each other's differences so that everyone's free to live their lives that they choose. But this needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Otherwise, we run into the tolerance paradox. This paradox is articulated by philosopher Karl Popper in his good, The Open Society and Its Enemies, where he posits that unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance.
