Explaining why people lose touch from @thejaunt_
The creator explains his theory on why people lose touch as they get older, suggesting it's because individuals tend to only initiate contact when they are in a good mood or their life is going well. He points out the low probability of two friends being in this positive state simultaneously, which creates a barrier to connection. He concludes by advising that to maintain friendships, one must make the effort to call even when not feeling great, because a 'perfect time' rarely exists.

Transcript excerpt
One of the fundamental reasons that people don't stay in touch as they get older is because they only wanna call or they only wanna pick up the phone when they're either in a good mood or their life is going well. And it's very hard for you to be in that state and also have your friend be in that state. Usually one of the people is tired and not doing that well. So eventually to break out of that loop, you have to be like, even though I don't feel great, even though I don't love where I'm at in life right now, I'm gonna pick up or I'm gonna give him a call because there's never really a perfect time.
